Yzerfontein
Yzerfontein is situated in the West Coast region of the Western Cape, South Africa.
Geography and History
This is a a tranquil seaside village 85 km North of Cape Town off the R27.
Yzerfontein is known for its unique 16 Mile Beach, the longest uninterrupted sandy beach on the South African coastline, stretching North of the main beach, to the West Coast National Park which borders the town.

Activities
Natural attractions here include the 16 Mile Beach, the Bokbaaivygie flower trail and the Schaapeiland Trail along the coast, with its astonishing views over the Atlantic Ocean and occasional sightings of whales.
Fishermen angle from the beach and the rocks, and collect mussels and catch crayfish. The small-craft harbour allows the launching of boats and jetskis, while the bay is popular for bodyboarders and kite-surfing, one of the many activities to do in this area.
